The 2017 PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature will take place from May 1st through May 7th. The theme of this year’s festival is Gender + Power, with a remarkable lineup of authors and translators scheduled to participate.
For the first time, the always popular Translation Slam will feature a Japanese poet, Hiromi Ito. Two accomplished translators, J. Keith Vincent and Janine Beichman, will present their competing translations of her work. The slam will take place on Friday, May 5th, at the Nuyorican Poets Café.
